3 Easy Little Tips To EnJOY your Holiday

Tis’ the season to be merry, peaceful and bright, right? Actually, for many people the holidays are a time of stress and emotional overwhelm.  There’s so much to get done so we don’t have the time to be joyous! And for many of us, holidays can be an emotional trigger. But Hey – I got ya covered.


3 Easy Little Tips to EnJOY your Holiday...
  1. Gratitude
For me, this is one of the powerful words and practices in my emotional arsenal.  It helps us to turn things around and see the light when things are looking pretty dim.   Gratitude is about acknowledgment and giving thanks, even for the little things, no thing is too small.  When we offer thanks, it creates a positive energy circle that helps us to manifest more of the good stuff our lives!

 The holidays can be a powerful time for reflection – What are the things you are grateful for accomplishing, doing, experiencing this past year?  There’s gotta be at least one (hopefully more) that make you smile.  Who are the people that made a difference in your life through inspiration and kindness this past year?    Slow down to take this time for a simple acknowledgement of the things you have to be thankful for!   Don’t forget let your loved ones and colleagues know that you are grateful for them.  A little love goes a long way!
  1. Giving
The season of ChrismaKwanzuKah is a time of merchandise madness.  And that can be stressful for many people.   Flip the script, think of it as an opportunity to show the people in your life that you care – gifts don’t have to be expensive to say, I Love You and I’m blessed to have you in my life.  Gifts are about acknowledging the person, it’s a token that says thanks for being a valuable part of my life.  Think of it as simple gesture to make someone else smile.  A gift does not have to be expensive to show that you care.  And allow yourself to think outside the box. That being said, don’t forget yourself in this equation!  Be Kind to You too – You deserve something nice as well -  Whether it’s the gift of downtime, a night out, or something tangible. Go for it! I know someone who recently bought herself a brand-new duvet cover for Christmas…. It was kinda expensive, but I like to think I’m worth it!  And so are you! Treat yourself to a gift, big or small, that you have been craving ;)


       3. Grace

Ok, so the greetings of the season can sometimes take us into pretty emotional territory – whether it be family dynamics, memories, grief,  indifference to the cheer around you or               you fill in the blank for what You’re Feeling.  Exhale and acknowledge whatever it is without judgment.   When we fight our emotions it makes it more difficult for us to cope.    When we allow ourselves to feel whatever is truly going on, that kindness to our spirits can help us to feel lighter.   Also, you can neutralize the intensity of family dynamics, by just taking a step back – you have the power to observe and not participate.   The core of grace is allowing yourself to be and allowing others to be, without judgment.

Well, I’m off to buy the rest of my holiday gifts ( I know it’s Wed, but as we said above – no judgment!)
