Let It Rain - You will Get Through the Storm

The beautiful rain and recent stormy weather got me thinking about "Let It Rain," and how a storm can sometimes be a magical thing
I wrote that title track from my last CD, while visiting Taos, NM in the midst of what Taos calls monsoon season. At that time, my keyboard was placed up against a window. When I sat down to practice or write, I had a sweet little view of the outdoors. On that particular day, it was super stormy – crazy wind and the rain was pouring fiercely. I was staring out that window with a few tears in my eyes….

In this space, I was contemplating the reality of letting go of a recent romance. As most of us know, moments of release can be difficult.

The song emerged from the idea that I had traveled much stormier seas than this recent romantic debacle –
That thought offered me renewed feelings of faith & strength which resulted in the idea  Ok, mother nature – Bring It On! "Let It Rain!!"  I will get through this storm.

Everyone occasionally has those moments when they're dodging hail stones and the sky looks pretty damn dark. We're freezing and there's no spark in sight. When we're in that space, it's essential to remember...
We have a lot more strength and grace than we give ourselves credit for.

Think about one of the worst struggles of your life? Well, point is You are Here Now contemplating….. Therefore? You survived it. Sometimes we forget to give ourselves the recognition we deserve for surpassing the challenging moments in our lives - we get so caught in the midst of our emotions that we lose sight of our past victories.

You've been through it before and found your way, so it's important to remember that you already have the strength, experience and tools to do it again.  So, take a moment, trust in yourself and have faith that you will emerge again into to the light.
When a storm comes, it's temporary, it hits, it hits hard, and often it hurts even harder, but we must remember that it will pass. All things do. Very often once it does?

The chaos always leaves behind a valuable piece of enlightenment. And the sun shines brighter.  Also, it's the gift of the storm that helps us to cherish the sunshine.
Maybe that's why there's lightening? To let us know that even in those moments of a storm, Light still exists and it's Super-Powerful!
And perhaps, the thunder that crashes is saying, "Wake Up! See the light!"
Sometimes, we even see a rainbow :)
I've heard them say in TN, "If you don't like the weather? Wait 24 hours."
Every city (and person) has their distinctive seasons.
Life is changeable, always moving forward, it's shape-shifting like the weather, and it comes in many different colors.
So, when the storm comes?  I say, "Let It Rain!"

Here's a reminder for strength and faith :)
